Nice Days

There are also days when you get little pleasant surprizes. A small or big compliment, a word of appreciation. Life and the usual hangouts feel good and familiar all over again.

Il y a des journées quand on reçoit des petites surprises agréables. Un petit ou parfois un gros compliment, un mot d'estime. La vie et tous ses recoins usuels semblent de nouveau accueuillants et familiers.

Nasty Days

There are days when it's best to just stay in bed and shut up. That's what I should have done this morning. I might have been spared a lot of aggravation. Or maybe not.

I got some results in my quest for enlightment, but that took a lot out of me. I had to fight an uphill battle of the wits and quite frankly I'm just plain drained.

It's hard to argue with somebody who pretends not to understand you. You spend a lot of time just explaining the premise before you even can attempt to argue the point.

Somewhere between start and finish tempers flare up. Bury the hatchet at the intersection of Walk and Don't Walk.

I should have just stayed in bed.

My Big Vacation 2004

Finally had my pretty big vacation that I'd been planning for quite a while. 3 weeks to visit with my web friend Nancy in her little corner of Texas near San Antonio, a bit of California as in the nice parts of LA and Highway 1 from LA to Frisco, Seattle, WA, Vancouver Island, BC and the city of Vancouver itself. Met and socialized with other web friends along the way. A good time was had by all!

It was a great trip, and despite the many hops, it all worked well. Only one little problem of my own doing on what was to be a short stop-over in Denver en route from San Antonio to LA. Yep, I decided to go outside the airport to have a look and a breath of fresh air (ok, euphemism for my needing to satisfy my lone vice) and had the unpleasant surprise of not being allowed back into the security zone because my boarding pass was at first rejected as not being the right type. This after assurances from all the security staff that it will be OK. It turned out it was OK, but the right hand doesn't know what the left hand does in the Denver Airport. Bottom line, I missed my departing flight and had to cool my heels in that airport for an extra 4 hours plus endure my family's wrath for that! Had I not missed that flight, I'd have been in LA in time to see a lovely sunset on the beach. Oh, well! Luckily I didn't get arrested as well for very nearly starting an episode of pre-air rage! I mean, really, the best that security lady who didn't let me in could come up with after it became obvious it was her stupid mistake was "Oops, sorry!"

I took tons of photos with my recently acquired digital camera, most of them big flops. Ironically, due to my not being used with the concept of digital photography and the camera settings, I also managed to get quite a few video clips when I simply wanted to take a photo!

I weeded out the really bad shots, trimmed the awful video clips and put together a photo gallery posted on my site. Enjoy!

Oh, here's my favorite shot from this trip:
