Oh goodness me! Yesterday I attempted to do what had been brewing in my head for some time. I started the gruesome task of translating a website to French.
The original English version is at www.acousticnightsmontreal.com and the new French version is at www.nuitsacoustiquesmontreal.ca. The translation is going slowly, until it’s done a lot of pages are off-limits to robots.
Not easy to decide how to best tackle it. Nothing I tried using the .htaccess file worked so I did it the dumb way: provide a parallel copy, hardly sharing anything. Clearly I have to rethink the method, because maintenance will be a chore.
But there it is in all its glory. Now to write stuff….
Things would have been easier had I but thought of it when I first started the original English site. Oh well…
